After making a full recovery, Jose Valenzuela bounced back by defeating Isaac Cruz to capture the world super lightweight title. Although he later lost the championship to Gary Antuanne Russell, Valenzuela became one of the first fighters to sign with Zuffa Boxing following the promotion’s official launch.
Now campaigning in the lightweight division at 135 pounds, Valenzuela has already earned his first victory under the Zuffa Boxing banner. He impressed with a dominant performance against Diego Torres, using his technical skills and determination to control the fight and secure a unanimous decision after winning nine of the 10 rounds on all three judges’ scorecards.
